Amr Abdallah headshotFrom the President...

Dear Colleagues

As I step into the role of President of Harvard Alumni for Global Development (HAGD), I want to express my sincere appreciation to our outgoing president — and to the leaders who came before — for their dedication and service. Their work has built a strong foundation for the next stage of our growth.

Looking ahead, my vision is to position HAGD as a more connected, engaged, and impactful community. Working closely with the HAGD leadership team, I aim to focus on three priorities:

  • Thought leadership - expanding opportunities to share insights, knowledge and on-the-ground experience in global development

  • Community engagement - creating more ways for members to connect, learn, and support one another across regions and sectors

  • Collective impact - strengthening collaborations and partnerships that amplify the contributions of our global community.

We welcome your engagement in our network and encourage you to gain a deeper understanding of the work we do via our in-person and virtual events found on our Events page. Be sure to follow us on social media, and don’t forget to tune in to our “Global Minds” podcast. Each episode presents an interview with Harvard’s leading movers and shakers in the global development space. We invite you to our group and sincerely look forward to having you join us in our efforts to ensure prosperity and security for all.

I’m excited to build on the achievements of our past presidents and work with all of you to shape a vibrant and forward-looking HAGD.
