Melissa Zhang is a Principal at Azimuth Capital Management and co-founded and served as the Chief Operating Officer of the carbon mineralization startup, RockFix, where she led commercialization with miners and fundraising. She was previously a strategist at Google X for an electric grid moonshot and an investor at BlackRock, where she managed low carbon transition portfolios and hedge funds.
She holds a dual Bachelor of Science in Environment and Finance from the University of California, Berkeley. She earned her MBA from Stanford University and her Master in Public Administration from Harvard University, where she was winner of the Harvard President’s Innovation Prize and a J.F. Kennedy scholar.
Ms. Zhang will join Harvard Alumni for Global Development to engage in a conversation about climate technology, sustainable finance, and innovation strategy. She will also provide her expertise in scaling and investing in technologies that drive the energy transition.
