Founder and CEO of Empower, Mr. Joshua Sear, will join Harvard Alumni for Global Development to engage in a conversation about the challenges and solutions anticipated in ridesharing and economic empowerment. He will also offer advice for a successful career in transitioning from work in the private/public sector to entrepreneurship.

Prior to founding the rideshare software startup Empower, Mr. Joshua Sear was Senior Counsel at SageNet, a large managed network and cyber security services provider. Before then, he gained M&A experience, first as counsel for Matterhorn Transactions, a legal tech startup, and then as an associate at a boutique transactional law firm. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Sear worked in the Obama White House and for the Senate Judiciary Committee. Mr. Sear is a graduate of The George Washington University Law School and The University of Virginia, where he was an Echols Scholar.
