Navigating a Career in Global Development during Periods of Uncertainty

Friday, December 4th at 12:00 PM EST

Are you a recent Harvard graduate pursuing your first post in global development? · Are you trying to leverage your technology, finance, “fill-in-the-blank” expertise to switch into global development? · Are you mid-career transitioning into global development with a limited network? · Are you currently within the global development sector attempting to pivot functions, sectors, or locations? Global health, economic, racial injustice, environmental, and geopolitical macro dynamics have dramatically impacted the global development sector. Issues of hiring freezes, travel bans, localization priorities, and closures of many organizations are just a few of the implications of these dynamics. For those pursuing careers in the sector during these times, developing a strategy to further your career aspirations is challenging. Join Harvard Alumni in Global Development (HAGD) for an intimate conversation with three accomplished global development professionals who have worked at the U.S. Peace Corps, USAID, U.S. Department of State, Room to Read, American Institutes for Research, Academy for Educational Development, Asian Development Bank, IBM Business Consulting (formerly PricewaterhouseCoopers). You will have a chance to listen to these three Harvard alumni share their unique career journeys and experiences in global development, followed by moderated and open discussions.
